The 6 Mistakes Keeping You Single

/

Many women get caught up on their physical appearance as the reason they may still be single. We look at ourselves in the mirror and wonder am I thin enough? Am I pretty enough? Am I desirable? However, we need to remember that lasting relationships aren’t built on looks, but rather on connections.

If you feel as if what you’re doing isn’t working, perhaps it’s time to change your approach to dating as a whole. Here are 6 mistakes you may be making which are keeping you single.

We Have a Sense of Entitlement

Our friends tell us “you’re amazing and any man would be lucky to have you!” which of course is true, but we also need to remember that we are human and imperfect. What you may think is quirky and endearing may be annoying to someone else, but if you expert your partner to compromise, you should be willing to do so too.

We Think the Options are Endless

We meet someone, it’s going well, but we can’t help but wonder if there is something better out there – it’s the classic idea of ‘the grass is always greener’. So we keep searching and after weeks and months and years, we are still searching. As such, it’s important to remember that our options are not endless and we need to learn to be satisfied with someone who isn’t perfect, but near.

We Are Too Picky

While being picky when choosing betting sites is important, it isn’t healthy in the dating world. Online dating is convenient and allows us access to a wider spectrum of people, but it has also created unrealistic expectations. Don’t judge someone on a silly thing they’ve put in their bio, but rather try and get a feel for the person instead. Talk to them and see if there is a connection, don’t write someone off because they aren’t your usual type.

We Are Too Judgemental

Men are open about the fact that they think women are too judgemental of them and the truth is that the majority of men don’t micro-analyse their partners like women do. We need to learn to look past what others may think of your partner in terms of his looks, stature, and accomplishments and focus on the person.

We Choose the Alpha Males

In big cities filled with highly-ambitious people, you often find plenty of maximisers – people who are constantly looking around for something better – and unfortunately for them, maximiser women seek out maximiser men. The problem with this is that they may be just as picky in an unhealthy way. While the alpha may be your usual type, try something different – someone funny, kind, smart and also looking for commitment.

We Don’t Understand That Opposites Attract

Just because your potential partner isn’t interested in all the things that interest you, doesn’t mean you can’t make the relationship work. It’s important to remember the old adage that opposites attract and having separate interests actually makes for a varied and healthy relationship. You don’t need to be in each other’s pockets all the time!
